Ewnix is an IRC Network that was founded by Kevin Thompson (phlux) and Eric Yoakum (eric) sometime around the turn of the century.
Originally, Ewnix was designed as a cure for boredom and is still very much serving its purpose to this day.
In the beginning, the network ran Unreal IRCd 3.1 and Epona IRC Services. Over the years, the network has closed its doors for remodeling and opened them back up to the public.
Ewnix currently runs charybdis-4.0.3-dev IRC daemon with atheme-7.2.10-r2 IRC services, although we are always welcome to suggestions. While our general idea for the network is to promote free speech and to provide a safe place for IRC users to speak their minds; we also cater towards general chatter.
